You want fame. Here comes fame. You become glorious. Everyone looks up at you. You are now put on a pedestal. People start to scream your name. They try to be like you. They want to have whatever you have. All your moves become detailed to the eyes of your followers (and haters).
You want a good job. Here comes a new job. Enthusiasm is there. You wake up more than eager to go to work. You are excited about how things will go in your workplace. You are zestful. You instantly become Miss Congeniality because you greet everyone in the office. Yes, it's a high-paying job. Your efforts are equal your earnings. With that, you are able to live a luxurious life. However, when you get home, when the work is done, you find yourself asking: WHAT'S NEXT?
You want to become an instant millionaire. You place your bets on different combinations. You have thought of joining a game show. Say, you win. Money is already there for you to bathe with and even sleep on. You buy things you dream of having. Now, you have almost, if not all, the money in the world. You are living a life of someone who is worthy of a Forbes Magazine page. But when you read the article, WHAT'S NEXT?
What is a life worth living? Is it a life full of fame? A life with a dream job? Or a life filled with great possession?
All these things can only be achieved if you try to be competitive- if you try so hard to fit into a fast paced society. But when you reached the top, you still ask lots of questions to yourself. Is it the life we are supposed to live? A life full of questions?
In the end, the goals we have set, if we really work hard for it, can be achieved. But what's important is that we find inner satisfaction- FULFILLMENT. And to be fulfilled, we must look up to the Ultimate Source. The Source is not someone who only provides material things for He knows fulfillment isn't dependent on earthly resources. He is the One who gives everything we need- be it material or non-material. Once we go to Him, all the rest will be blurry because He becomes our focus. There will be no need for us to long for things which can only be seen and touched. We are made to aim for things with eternal and spiritual value.
We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. - 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
